Making a game engine is hard, not everyone has the motivation, energy and skill to develop their own game engine, Godot it's a great engine, a lot of developers use already-made game engines, there's nothing wrong with that, come on, this ain't the 90's or the 2000's, Godot is a blessing, it's light, extendable, and not owned and controlled by a company.
As a recent former moderator for the Godot community for nearly 5 years, there is a lot more going on here than woke.
Nat (the community manager) could have ignored the comment as it was already buried but wanted to make a point. Upon following Nat creating the thread, she started to ban people who had nothing to do with this and posted innocent comments. Who are Titanium and Plat supporters, who will now no longer support Godot financially because they said nothing wrong.
Now, there are people who wrote disgusting replies that you can expect that they would. They deserved the bans. But Nat went on a banning spree banning people from the official official Godot Twitter account. Nat stirred up drama for nothing and now is costing Godot financial issues.
I left the community because of Nat. She did a lot of things wrong and backstabbed people. She is very condescending and has split the community and team.
If you stop supporting an open source game engine because you feel personally slighted by a community manager doing excess moderation to handle a harassment campaign, maybe you never really cared to begin with?
@ppgino And to touch your last statement: this didn't start off as a harassment campaign. Nat opened a thread about UE5 and found a tweet that wrote something stupid then she said something stupid, which got Foundation approval before it was sent and they knew they would get idiots from the wood work to react. And in her full dumb glory some how started to ban people that did nothing wrong.
Yes I know that there were dumb people who did get banned. 4chan was involved way after.
@ppgino Love you Liam, but don't act like you know more than you truly know. I was with Godot for five years and I have lived and experienced it and was at the party for the Godot 4 release. I've even celebrated Godot news on the GOL website next to Cali. Throwing disingenuous at me twice and muting me really shows that you have nothing to truly say and are stuck on an ego trip over this and aren't being reasonable, nor do you want to.
Okay, here's the thing, this caused a major controversy and appearently the person who controls the Twitter account blocked a lot of people, incluiding supporters, not even for good reasons, damaging Godot's reputation... Dude, what the actual hell?
This is a great response. I don't care much for dumb controversy but I appreciate that they distance themselves from xananax because he's been blowing up on Discord since the tweet. It's good to let people know counter-insults and aggressive raging isn't helping anything and was making the community look like childish.
isn’t Unity like already anti-woke, why don’t they just fuck off and use that. It’d be a perfect pairing. Plus when everyone’s looking at job boards, it’ll be like they’re advertising their toxic work environment when asking for Unity devs. Fuck, we should be encouraging them to use unity, convince them that Godot really is anti-woke and like antifa and shit.
the woke/anti woke thing is flipping stupid and one of the many reasons I left conventional social medias, in the end if you take part in it (no matter the reason) you'll be swallowed into some crazy shit, in life if you're pressured to pick a side, be sure there's something fishy in the air. There seems to be no way to enjoy your freedom and make a stance without being called a fascist or a woke these days, individual morality is slowly being dissolved into this binary crap...

That would presumably be a hedge against a certain end-of-life that's looming next year. Valve are preparing a feel-good, shrink-wrapped, fully supported desktop OS to offer to users who don't opt for a spurious hardware refresh for which they never asked.
Valve do care about the health of "the desktop" as a concept. Without TPM or AI.

เทียบเฉพาะอังกฤษ-ไทย ผมว่า อังกฤษมีคลังศัพท์เยอะ ในขณะที่ไทยต้องขยายความยืดยาวกว่า ส่วนอัตราพยางค์พูด การแยกสระสั้น-ยาวของไทยทำให้เร่งได้จำกัด
