If you're going to cover something like this, look into it properly, otherwise you're not even covering half the story.

Once again, it seems like you just haven't looked into it to actually cover it properly. The replies were locked, because of the harassment campaign. Which is *still* ongoing.
The “significant” mentioned here refers to the size of the uproar in a general sense. We don't mention any stats here, either.
I'm not sure why you're breaking it down for a different angle as if we're taking anyone's side, which clearly is not the case as I've clarified.
