I've implemented that in a past life, it forced all users through a (dedicated) password update flow on login if the password was a hit on Pwned Passwords (implemented as a Bloom filter for performance, designed to have an acceptably low FP rate but you could fall back to a binary search lookup through the real DB if you want zero FPs).

Other than the Bloom optimization it sounds pretty similar to your plan ^^

The second suggestion was bad though... the second memcpy can never overlap since src and dst are different buffers.

So that just tells me the AI is just as likely to give good advice that humans missed, as it is to give bad advice that humans miss, which doesn't sound very useful... (in this case the second change was harmless, but that was just a coincidence).

At the end of the day, if you treat LLMs like they're actually intelligent, when they're not... you're just going to fall for their mistakes just as often as they're going to be helpful.

(Also the part where it agreed with itself is funny. Also insert obligatory "Rust fixes this footgun without any need for AI" ^^)
