I found this via @alper, and it's a really interesting idea.

You know there's gradual typing in Python? This is a bit like "gradual compilation" for code you know you want to have run really fast, and don't mind adding a bit of extra syntax to make sure they DO run fast. This extra syntax allows for compiling them down to C, which is then easy to turn to WASM or native binary code.
