in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

I really wonder how long EPIC will stay online with their store. This can't last forever ...
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

Honestly I don't care if a game on EPIC would sell for 1-2 € less. Gaming is no longer a money problem for me. It's a convenience problem. The easier I can play games on linux, the better. I have little time and steam makes it directly easy visible if a game runs on linux or not. No worries to mess around with lutris or else.
Same goes for watching movies. The industry blocks me on linux from using BD, streams are not possible or only low quality … piracy is not about money…

Anyone using @forgejo #forgejo runners for #Perl have the same issue as me using github.com/shogo82148/actions-… for running perl?

My workflows fail during setup of shogo82148/actions-setup-perl, see screenshot.

The URL it fails on saying bad credentials works fine without credentials. Is this a #GitHub thing requiring something as the action is hosted there? I'm using the latest runner, cleared caches. Went back to previous version, same issue.

This used to work before...

in reply to Christiaan Kras

The error messages are not the same, but maybe the issue is? At least on codeberg.org jobs that have spaces in their names don't run, see codeberg.org/actions/meta/issu…

in reply to Forgejo

@mahlzahn Thanks, tried that but no dice.

It seems something inside the latest version of shogo82148/actions-setup-perl broke. Using v1.34.0 gives me this error, but v1.33.0 doesn't.

The latest release is 3 weeks old and so far I haven't seen any bug reports on it. So I assume GitHub actions don't have this issue.

You've heard about Fedora Workstation, KDE Desktop, and COSMIC a lot this cycle, but remember we have tons of other spins worth checking out too!

#Fedora #Linux #OpenSource

I sure hope we can all rally around OSUOSL and get them the funding they need to continue their invaluable work.

#fedora has a server hosted there that provides a number of vm's as well as a power10 instance for package maintainers to test their packages on power10.

They have touched so many open source communities!

If you have a way to help them, please do!

Redis 8.0 Released: Now Tri-Licensed With AGPLv3

Last year Redis made the much criticized move to Redis Source Available License v2 and Server Side Public License v1 (SSPL) licensing. The move was widely panned by the open-source community and led to the Linux Foundation forking it as Valkey and also other forks like Redict coming about. In the months since many Linux distributions have switched from Redis to Valkey. Now Redis Labs announced …

The #Forgejo monthly update was published ✨ It is a high level overview of the project activities.

Forgejo is now featured on the official Git website. Forgejo v11.0 was released on 16 April following quick fixes for identified regressions. The Helm chart was updated to version 12 for compatibility. Federation work continues on HTTP signatures and following user activity. The infrastructure faced SSH connection failures and excessive crawling.

in reply to Forgejo

> but it is where such a feature belongs instead of being implemented in every service (OpenSSH, Forgejo, etc.)

Doing it in the application allows for more fine grained control and better user feedback. Proxies often don't act on the application level and just block/drop traffic outright and then there is no feedback at all for the user and things just don't work.
