เกริ่น FontForge ไม่รองทับทำฟอนต์เอโมจิสีสักที
ปีที่แล้วนู้นเห็น nanoemoji ทำฟอนต์เอโมจิจาก svg ได้
แต่ก็ merge กับฟอนต์ทั่วไปไม่ได้อยู่ดี
ถ้าจะ merge แบบพื้นๆ ก็ใช้ pyftmerge โต้งๆ ได้เลย
แต่ทั้งนี้มันยังไม่รองรับพวก CORL CMAP ก็คือเอโมจิสีไม่ได้มาด้วย
เลยคาไว้แบบนั้น
พักหลังทำฟอนต์ให้ตรงสเป๊กของกูเกิ้ลมากขึ้นเลยได้ใช้พวก fonttools กับ gftools เป็นหลักในการ build ฟอนต์มา
เลยมีโอกาสลอง ttx พิเรนทร์ดู
ผลได้คือทำออโต้ merge ฟอนต์สีกับออโต้ได้
(ตะก่อนมานั่งแตกไฟล์ แล้วแก้มือเอง เสียเวลามาก ยิ่งมี glyph เป็นหมื่นพวกฟอนต์จีนคือกระตุกจัด)
แล้วตอนจะ merge ฟอนต์กัน
ทั้ง nanoemoji ทั้ง fonttool ก็ gen .notdef มาให้เฉย กลายเป็นมี .notdef 2 อัน
ลองใช้ pyftsubset ลบ .notdef ก็ เจอบั๊กกิน glyph ID เลื่อน ฟอนต์พัง build ไม่ผ่าน
เลยใช้ท่า pyftmerge ทั้ง 2 ฟอนต์รวมกันก่อน โดยเอาฟอนต์สีขึ้นก่อน พวก glyphID/layer จะได้อยู่ต้นๆ
แล้วใช้ ttx แตกมาเป็น xml
จากนั้น ใช้ python ก๊อป table ส่วนที่ขาดไปจากทั้งฟอนต์สีแล้วฟอนต์ขาวดำมาทับแก้
ก็เกือบเสร็จละแต่
ทุกขั้นตอนเล่นชอบมีบั๊กทำมี key หล่นหาย
เลยมี scripts python มาแก้รอบสุดท้าย
แล้วค่อยแปลง xml กลับเป็น ttf (ไม่ทำ hinted)
ต้องขอบคุณ ChatGPT, Gemini แล้วอีกหลายๆ ตัวมาช่วยเขียน python ให้ 555555 สบายขึ้นเยอะ ไม่ต้องปวดนิ้วพิมพ์เอง เอาเวลาไปแก้อย่างอื่นดีกว่า
7. ใช้ ttfautohinting ทำ hint แล้วพบอักษรสูงๆ ต่ำๆ
แรกสุด ฟอนต์ทำแต่ตัวละติน พักหลังมาใส่คิริลลิกด้วย
มักง่าย ref จากตัวละตินมาดื้อๆ กลายเป็นว่า hint ออกมาพัง
เดาว่า ttfautohinting จับอักษรที่เอามา ref เป็นคนละscript กับละติน/คิริลลิก
เลยลองกลับด้าน ref ดู ก็เจอว่ามันไม่พังแล้ว แต่ตลกคือ X กับ small capital หลายๆ ตัวกลับเตี้ยกว่าปกติ ทั้งที่โครงสร้างอะไรเหมือนกันเป๊ะ
เดาเพิ่มอีกว่า น่าจะคอนฟิก ttfautohinting ไม่ถูก...
(เคยลอง hint มือมาก่อน บนคอมดูดี บนมือถือคืออักษรยับยู่ยี่ เลิกทำ hint แต่นั้น; แต่เหมือนสเป๊กgfontจะบังคับทำ hint เลยกลับมาทำ)
