ไม่ทันได้โพสต์ เมื่อสิ้นเดือนธันวาคมของปีที่แล้ว ผมได้ไปเที่ยวที่ อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ศรีสัชนาลัย ซึ่งหลาย ๆ คนคงถามว่า "เด็กอะไรสมัยนี้ไปดูวัด ปราสาทสมัย (ก่อน) สุโขทัย" ผมบอกตรง ๆ ว่า... ผมก็ไม่รู้เหมือนกัน 🤣
ที่ผมไปเที่ยวที่นี่ คงเป็นเพราะว่าน่าจะประมาณ 1-2 เดือนก่อนหน้านี้ ผมได้เริ่มศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้เนื่องจากความขี้สงสัยของข้าพเจ้า
ต้องขอยอมรับว่า... ตอนแรกผมก็เริ่มจากการตั้งหลักที่ "ประวัติศาสตร์ไทย / สยาม" แหละแต่พอได้ไปเรื่อย ๆ ผมก็ค้นพบว่า... เออ... เราเอาแนวคิด "รัฐชาติ" (ที่เพิ่งเข้ามาในสยามในช่วงประมาณรัชสมัยของรัชกาลที่ ๕ นั่นเอง - อ้างอิง "สมบูรณาญาสิทธิราชย์" ของ รศ.ดร. กุลลดา เกษบุญชู มี้ด) ไปใช้กับอาณาจักร / หน่วยการเมืองรัฐ / political entity ในสมัยนั้นไม่ค่อยได้สักเท่าไหร่ เพราะแนวคิด "nation-state" / รัฐชาติยังไม่ได้เกิดขึ้นในสมัยนั้น และ "รัฐโบาณ" ในสมัยนั้นอาจจะเป็นระบบการปกครองเป็น "มณฑล" / Mandala ก็ได้ แต่อย่างไรก็เหอะ ผมเริ่มนอกเรื่องละ
กลับมาเรื่องเดิม คือว่า ผมได้เริ่มศึกษาเรื่องนี้ประมาณสิ้นปีที่แล้วแล้วก็ค่อย ๆ เข้มข้นขึ้นหลังปีใหม่ ๒๕๖๘ - ช่วงนั้นผมก็รู้สึกว่า... เออ... จริง ๆ แล้วมันมีอะไรมากกว่า "สุโขทัย -> อยุธยา -> ธนบุรี -> รัตนโกสินทร์ -> ราชอาณาจักรไทย" อีกนะเนี่ย จึงเป็นอีกหนึ่งสาเหตุที่ทำให้ผมอยากไปดูโบราณสถานของจริง เพราะผมว่า... พอมันมีเรื่องสถาปัตยกรรมและวัฒนธรรมเข้ามา มันต้องไปดูของจริงแล้วล่ะ อ่านอย่างเดียวไฝมันไม่ค่อยเข้าใจเท่าไหร่ ฉ้นต้องไปดูให้ได้ ว่าโบราณสถานเหล่านี้มันเป็นอย่างไร
หลังจากที่ได้ไปเที่ยวมา ผมก็บอกได้เลยว่าทริปนี้มันไม่ได้เป็นแค่การไปชมวิวอย่างเดียว แต่ผมว่ามันเป็นการเรียนรู้ประวัติศาสตร์ที่ผมเข้าถึงและเข้าใจได้เป็นอย่างมาก เอาตามจริง ช่วงนั้นผมก็ยังไม่ทราบถึงประวัติศาสตร์ของเมืองศรีสัชนาลัยขนาดนั้นหรอกเพราะช่วงนั้นคือกำลังค่อย ๆ รวบรวมอาณาจักร / เมืองต่าง ๆ ที่มันพอ "ให้คำจำกัดความ" ได้ว่าเป็น "รัฐไทย / สยาม" (ย้ำอีกครั้งว่าแนวคิด nation-state ไม่สามารถนำมาใช้ได้อย่าง 100%) แต่จะอย่างไรก็เถอะ ถึงแม้ว่าตอนนั้นยังไม่ค่อยทราบถึงประวัติศาสตร์ของเมืองเท่าไหร่ ผมก็สามารถบอกได้ว่าทริปนี้ถือว่าเป็นรากฐานที่สำคัญในการศึกษาเรื่องราวในภูมิภาคนี้ของผมเลยล่ะ !

วันนี้มีโอกาสได้เดินริมคลองผดุงกรุงเกษมแถวๆหัวลำโพง ร่มรื่นดีจัง
สิ่งหนึ่งที่ผมสังเกตเห็นในคอมเมนต์ของวีดิโองานเสวนา " “ขอม” หรือ “เขมร” ปัญหาของคำและแนวคิดเรื่องรัฐชาติ" บางวีดิโอว่า "นักวิชาการชอบนำหลักฐานของฝรั่งมาพูด" หรือ "ทำไมไม่เอาหลักฐานของไทยมาพูดบ้าง" ซึ่งตอนแรกผมก็ พอจะเข้าใจ ว่าทำไมเขาถึงพูดอย่างนั้น เพราะบางคนอาจจะมองว่า "นักวิชาการ" ชอบเอาหลักฐานของทางต่างประเทศมาใช้ในการทำวิจัย ซึ่งผมมองว่า... มันก็ไม่ได้เยอะขนาดนั้นนะ แต่อย่างไรก็เถอะ
ทีนี้มาที่ประเด็นของงานเสวนานี้นั่นคือการคุยเรื่องคำว่า "ขอม" กับ "เขมร" ซึ่งในช่วง 30-40 นาทีแรก เท่าที่ผมฟังมา ผศ.ดร.กังวล คัชชิมา ได้ยกหลักฐานที่ปรากฏคำว่า "ขอม" ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่แล้วเป็นหลักฐานที่มาจาก
ในขณะที่อาจารย์ยกหลักฐานที่มาจากต่างประเทศเพียงไม่กี่อย่างเท่านั้นเอง เช่น
เท่าที่ได้อ่านมา เพื่อน ๆ ก็น่าจะพอเห็นภาพแล้วว่า หลักฐานส่วนใหญ่ที่ ผศ.ดร.กังวล ยกขึ้นมาอธิบานเรื่องนี้ส่วนใหญ่แล้วเป็นหลักฐานที่คนไทย ส่วนใหญ่ สามารถที่จะยอมรับได้ว่าเป็นของ "ไทย" และไม่ใช่ "ต่างประเทศ" ผมจึงไม่เข้าใจการที่มีคนชอบไปเขียนคอมเมนต์ว่า "นักวิชาการไทยสายเขมร" หรืออะไรทำนองนั้น เพราะหลักฐานที่ยกมาส่วนใหญ่เป็นของ "สยาม" ทั้งสิ้น (หรือจะบอกว่า "สุโขทัย" "อยุธยา" ไม่ใช่สยาม ? อันนี้ก็น่าสนใจนะ แต่ไว้ทีหลัง)
อย่างไรก็ตาม เพื่อความแฟร์ ผมฟังงานเสวนานี้ไปได้แค่ 40 นาทีเท่านั้น มันต้องมีอะไรอย่างอื่นที่มีมาเพิ่มอีกอย่างแน่นอน เดี๋ยวพอดูไปเรื่อย ๆ เดี๋ยวจะมาอัพเดทไปเรื่อย ๆ นะครับ

OBS doesn't need any changes for the initial version, it would just use the existing built-in PipeWire camera plugin.
The "camera" thing is just a name at this point, there's nothing camera specific about the inner workings.
It's Flatpak on the Steam/Proton side that would be an issue, I think OBS should be fine as long as the existing PW plugin already works with Flatpak. But I might have missed something, @tytan652 knows more ^^
Also this does require Proton right now, Spout2 doesn't work with upstream Wine yet sadly.
To have a functioning "Camera" in PipeWire besides providing a format that a camera can normally provide.
For the portal to use it, it needs to have the right media role applied to the node.

Honestly after what I've seen about spout2, I would expect window capture to perform better.
The only reason to use this is to work with Windows apps that already support Spout2 and where plain window capture has limitations (no transparency, showing GUI when not desired, resolution/pixel perfect issues).
I don't expect the initial implementation to take long, it should be a few weeks at most. I can probably get it mostly working in one more stream. The portal integration to make it work with Flatpak Steam will take longer.
