I love my Steam Deck, as any regular reader will know. It's my favourite gaming device but it could always be better right? And with competition hot (hi Nintendo), I hope Valve have more plans.
Nintendo hardware will never overcome the steam deck in terms of raw performance in the next 10 years. Just look at the Switch, its hardware was already 6 years or so out of date when it released. :)
I have and love my original Steam Deck. I’m so tempted to get the OLED model, but the thought of a Steam Deck 2 coming out soon weighs on me. Couldn’t happen, right?
Thing is: bringing the performance up can quickly be evened out by also bringing the resolution up.
I am not sure what resolution is necessary for a really good experience on such a small device, but I am sure there's a golden balance to find somewhere in there.

@itsoulos There are two layers, the differences that Asahi brings with this update and then that new non-DE specific things that are a part of Fedora 40 in general. This article has some of the Fedora Asahi things and the general announcement has the details for what's new in Fedora 40.
Does this mean that Bankstown is enabled by default? I was never able to find documentation on how to enable it, or if it is in fact enabled by default.

V Rising took Steam by storm back when it hit Early Access in 2022, and now Stunlock Studios have released the big 1.0 with lots of upgrades and it should work better than ever for Steam Deck players.
not surprising, but the #VRising (server) update deleted the progress of me playing with friends for a couple of months :( We are not motivated to start at 0, even though the game is fun. But it is too grindy / repetitive to start over now.
Selaco is easily the game I am most excited about this year, a GZDoom powered shooter that had a brilliant demo but Altered Orbit Studios are about to delist the demo.
