It's a bit unfortunate that the @omgubuntu article about #GNOME 48 summarizes #GNOMECalendar 48's whole release as one line that says, "Calendar offers various Event Editor dialog improvements"
…when the Calendar app landed one of the most fundamental productivity (and format compliance) features of the last 12 years (after many, many months of design & development work): gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-c…

At least 40 issues resolved for that release overall: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-c…

@nekohayo Sorry, Jeff 🫤 It wasn't intentional. Tbh, I was a bit "late" in covering 48's release so had only a semi-stale skeleton of changes cribbed from plucky's uploads to start from. I relied (as other pubs) on the official rel notes for the rest - which don't mention much re: Calendar (i.e., I didn't sit and think "big changes in Calendar, I'll skip those" so it joined the one-highlight bullet point club 🙈). I'll grab a ☕️ and expand it to a para or two, like Decibels, Text Editor, etc.

Sorry for the copious emoji in that post btw! Character limits and my propensity to over explain /everything/ necessitates them! (That, and I've also been told, more than once, I can come across as blunt and/or like a word that rhymes with it when writing on social meeja and that peppering my posts with emoji would help prevent me from being mis-read/understood).

I presumed no ill intent!
I agree that the casual mention in the release notes (without the hyperlinks I had proposed in gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/Website… and comments etc.) made it too easy for people to miss how major that feature addition is.
Thank you very much for being willing to give it a fresh look 🙂

I'm currently drafting a MR to augment those release notes to clarify Calendar's portion to add the needed emphasis. Maybe a blog post from me to go with it in details. I can let you know.
