AMD NGG Improvements Make It Into Mesa 25.2 Ahead Of Next Week's Code Branching
Last week I wrote about a number of patches coming out of AMD for Next-Gen Geometry "NGG" improvements to the AMD OpenGL and Vulkan drivers for Linux. Some of that code hadn't been merged as of writing but fortunately this week the remainder of the NGG improvements were successfully merged to Mesa Git for this quarter's Mesa 25.2 release...

Once that gets pushed through, OBS Browser Source should be working and reasonably stable on Fedora Asahi 42, and it should already be fine on Fedora 42 on other platforms as of a few hours ago. Please report any bugs on the Fedora bugzilla, this also helps the OBS project since we're also testing a newer CEF version ahead of upstream!

in reply to aki-nyan //nullptr::live • • •Update on this; So it *is* possible *kinda*
These monitors have stupid "profile" thing that can't be set via a VCP register, while things like the brightness and contrast *are*
So I still need to fuck with the OSD to get them all on the same profile, reset the defaults, then I can mostly adjust the other things via ddcutil and the VCP registers.
Asahi Lina (朝日リナ) // nullptr::live
in reply to aki-nyan //nullptr::live • • •I'd just give up leave them all on fixed settings and use software control for everything ^^;;
Backlight brightness is the only thing you can't really emulate (if the goal is to save power)...
aki-nyan //nullptr::live
in reply to Asahi Lina (朝日リナ) // nullptr::live • • •@lina Yeah that's what I did, I ensured they all were on the same profile and were reset and then synced them all with ddcutil.
So now they finally all at least *look* the same, I still need to get a colorimeter to do a proper cal but it's something at least :v
