I think it was pretty opportunistic group of people who saw opening and companies feeling weakened. Judging by this processors did not expect push back and felt it is something easy to roll out. Now big walk back begins. However overall society is still pretty hypocritical about whole sex thing.
it's interesting that the rule mentioned in Valve's response also gives "nonconsensual mutilation of a person or body part" as an example of things that should be disallowed, but there are plenty of games where this happens that don't seem to have been targeted. If they double down on this and don't insist on the removal of war games or horror games, then at least we'll have definite confirmation it's not about enforcing the rule...
in games who cares what is in it. Heck I see girls play with the big boobs all the time and they don't mind I have seen some that don't like it, but there are other options normally. No one should be allowed to decide what we can and can't buy in games it's our decision.
