New Godot Engine forks due to controversy? 🤔
news.itsfoss.com/godot-engine-…
The Godot engine project could be in trouble with the community divided.Sourav Rudra (It's FOSS News)
Redot..."Being moved forward by an enthusiastic community", oh wow, that's certainly an editorial decision on how to describe the bigots isn't it.
Redot will go nowhere.
@gamingonlinux I've edited that out for clarity.
It's entirely an informative take, which just includes what's currently the popular fork out there after what happened.
That's it. There's nothing more to it.
So, I didn't add any “editorial decision” to describe/glorify anyone, in case the wording “enthusiastic community” led you to that direction.
Hope that makes sense! Thanks for pointing that out! :)
— Ankush
"A significant part of the community has been jaded by this fiasco"
No they weren't. 99% of the people involved were brigading the Godot team, drummed up by far-right grifter Grummz on Twitter.
If you're going to cover something like this, look into it properly, otherwise you're not even covering half the story.
"Unsurprisingly, when Godot's official statement published with locked replies on X, the situation did not improve. Some community members believe this shows a lack of accountability in handling the matter."
Once again, it seems like you just haven't looked into it to actually cover it properly. The replies were locked, because of the harassment campaign. Which is *still* ongoing.
The “significant” mentioned here refers to the size of the uproar in a general sense. We don't mention any stats here, either.
I'm not sure why you're breaking it down for a different angle as if we're taking anyone's side, which clearly is not the case as I've clarified.
I'll leave it at that. Thanks!
- Ankush.
