💫 USB Reverse Engineering stream! 💫

I bought a new audio interface to redo my setup with @cyan, but there are no Linux drivers! So let's reverse engineer it and write some~ 🚀

@be That's for a class compliant interface that works with standard drivers. The Digiface is not, so it won't work with that!

@be That one apparently uses MIDI SysEx to communicate, which is too different to USB so it's unlikely to have much in common... (it doesn't even use 8-bit bytes but rather 7-bit data units!)
Unknown parent

@be Yes but encoding parameters and mixer settings over SysEx is probably very different to encoding them directly into USB primitives like control messages and bulk transfers...

@Mutesplash The LP32 is 50% more expensive here and looks like it's out of stock in the retailer I usually use... it looks neat though but definitely a lot more complicated!

Similar to MOTU LP32 in price 😅 thought it might be cheaper because of the size 🤪

Yikes! I like the AVB but not for _that_ much more. Also I guess the RME will work on Linux and the MOTU won't 😉 👍

@Mutesplash Actually the MOTU says it works on iOS so it should be class compliant and "just work" on Linux I think? Honestly if I'd known about it I might have tried it instead... but now I'm invested in the RME so I'm going with this ^^
